Rooted dahlia cuttings are a reliable way to grow our exclusive varieties without worrying about the drama that tubers sometimes like to put us through.

Each cutting is carefully propagated with 2–3 pairs of leaf nodes to encourage vigorous root development and reliable tuber production during its first growing season. Cuttings are shipped while actively rooting, and may have only recently begun producing roots. We intentionally avoid sending heavily root-bound cuttings. Based on our own observations growing thousands of dahlia cuttings over the past decade, younger actively rooting cuttings tend to establish more quickly and produce better tuber clumps by fall.

Please note that rooted cuttings are not the same as established potted plants. They are actively rooting stems that require proper handling, potting, and aftercare during their establishment phase. Some horticultural experience and attention to growing conditions will improve success rates significantly.
